John Lewis Christmas Advert 2013

I know this ad has been making the rounds of the social mediasphere and indeed it is a very tender, touching ad but I was even more amazed at how they made the ad. When I first watched it I just assumed it was a classically animated piece but the making of video shows that it is a combination of classically animated drawings and stop motion capture. Really phenomenal piece.

one step closer to smell-a-vision

From the motherland comes another interesting invention for those on a diet, a tight budget or ..a date?!? What the... The basic premise is this. This iPhone attachment allows you to smell meat to trick your body into thinking it is experiencing the consumption of some delicious grilled meat while you eat your bowl of plain white rice. Or maybe you just like the smell of meat while you work. I dunno...

Collaborating with a 4 year old


I love collaborative artwork. It produces some really interesting stuff. I also like kids. So when this woman collaborated with her 4 year old daughter, some amazing thing happened.

I'm one of those people that hates the monotony of brushing my teeth. This toothbrush (if you can call it that) looks the brush for me. Now if they can only make it look just a little less scary...
